Man injured in construction accident still waiting for lawyer to send settlement

Six years of litigation and three months after reaching a settlement, Bensonhurst, Brooklyn-based construction worker Xhevat Misku is still waiting for his lawyer, Paul Vesnaver, to give him his money from the settlement.

ABC 7 NY reported on November 19 that the Long Island-based lawyer still has not given Misku his $500,000 from the settlement that was reached back in August 2015. In 2009, Misku was injured in a construction accident that left him with a fractured skull and serious back injuries. He is now permanently disabled.

Reports said that Vesnaver sent the money last month, but the bank notified Misku’s family that the check had bounced. The family has since filed a complaint with the New York state Judicial Grievance Committee.
