New York Construction Worker Injured while Building New NYPD Academy
Midday Wednesday, a New York construction worker sustained serious injuries after falling down a 12 foot elevator shaft. The construction worker was on site for the new New York Police Department academy that is being built at College Point Blvd. and 31st Ave.
Fortunately, NYPD’s emergency services were able to get on-site and get the injured worker out of the shaft with the help of a rescue basket minutes after the fall. Afterwards, the worker was transported to the New York Hospital in Queens. Currently, it is unclear exactly how the fall occurred.
The status of the injured construction worker’s injuries has yet to be released.
