Midtown Manhattan construction accident injures four people

On Friday, November 1, four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries near Broadway when the paneling of a West 40th Street building collapsed.

Debris flew as a poorly-secured plywood fence fell on top of three people walking near the intersection of 41st Street and 7th Avenue. The fence was being used as an enclosure to a restaurant’s renovation site.

Earlier that day, city officials from the Department of Buildings reminded all builders, contractors, and property owners to take extra precautions when securing construction sites as wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour were expected in the area.

Construction work is potentially hazardous to workers, especially when an employer is negligent. If you have been injured in New York City due to poor construction conditions, contact Hach & Rose, LLP at 866-LAWS-USA to learn about your legal options for pursuing compensation.
