Construction Worker Killed in Apartment Building Accident
A 42-year-old worker was killed in a construction accident at the end of last month when he fell through the first floor of an apartment building in Queens and was hit on the head by a steel girder in the building’s basement.
The building in which the accident occurred was under construction at the time of the accident. After the man’s 15-foot fall, he was rushed from Astoria to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Since this time, construction on the building has been stopped and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is expected to look into the incident.
