Is my employer obligated to provide safety training?

Whenever an employer cannot be reasonably expected to avoid accident and injury without safety training, Section 241-6 of the New York labor code states that it is the employer’s responsibility to provide for a safe construction site through proper safety equipment and training. Insufficient training creates a hazard to the under trained worker and everyone around them, increasing the risk of a significant accident or injury and making the contractor or property owner liable for injuries sustained as a result.
