Worker injured in Manhattan parking garage collapse
According to a report from CBS New York, one worker suffered minor injuries after a parking garage that was being demolished collapsed partially.
The building, on West 57th between 11th and 12th avenue, saw its floors collapse with workers inside, according to news reports. While workers were inside digging, the floors caved in; the injured worker had been on the building’s 3rd floor.
Fortunately, no other workers were injured, and the injuries of the one worker who did suffer harm were relatively minor. He “rode the three stories down and walked out of the building,” according to reports. Fire Chief Dan Donoghue said the worker “was very lucky.”
